🎵 Song Lyrics

Rise and shine the sun is bright
Time to start the day off just right
Get out of bed before you snooze
Stretch your arms there's no time to lose

Get ready get set it's a brand new day
It's fun to learn hip-hip-hooray
Brush your teeth put on your shoes
Let's get ready to go to school

Brush your teeth put on your clothes
Fix your hair with a brush or comb
Have some breakfast eat it up
So your brain is all geared up

Get ready get set it's a brand new day
It's fun to learn hip-hip-hooray
Brush your teeth put on your shoes
Let's get ready to go to school

Pack your bag and check it twice
Pencils books and lunch that's right
Give a hug and say goodbye
The day is going to fly by

Get ready get set it's a brand new day
It's fun to learn hip-hip-hooray
Brush your teeth put on your shoes
Let's get ready to go to school

About This Song

Get Ready for School is an upbeat song about Bebo the penguin getting ready for a new school day. Morning light comes through his bedroom window while he sleeps under a blue and white striped blanket. He wakes, sits up, and gets out of bed. With a stretch of his wings, he leaves his room to start getting ready.

In the bathroom, Bebo and Mommy Penguin smile and raise their wings together. Bebo stands at the sink and brushes with an orange toothbrush, making a mouthful of white foam. The morning routine continues with getting dressed and fixing his hair. He puts on a blue jacket and red tie, then gets his red and white shoes ready.

Bebo enjoys a sandwich before it is time to leave. His orange backpack is ready for the trip, with the words reminding him to check for pencils, books, and lunch. He puts the bag on his back and stands beside the table, dressed and ready for school. Mommy bends down to give him a hug and a kiss before they say goodbye.

Outside, snow covers the roof of their wooden home and the trees nearby. Bebo walks down the front path with his backpack on, then heads toward the school. Colorful flags hang above its entrance as he approaches the door, ready for a day of learning.
