About This Song

A pink bubble grows, stretches, and finally pops. That simple idea turns into a silly outdoor game as the penguins try to blow the biggest bubble ever.

The Bubble Gum Song plays with sounds as much as words. The repeated “bu bu” parts lead into “bubble gum,” while the chewing and blowing sections invite everyone to join the challenge. After all that effort, the answer is “Not big but funny,” followed by laughter.

The last surprise takes the joke in a different direction. A sneeze produces a snot bubble instead of a gum bubble, ending the song with an “Ewwww” and an “Oopsie.” It is a playful finish to a song that never takes its bubble contest too seriously.

Pretend Bubble Play

You do not need real gum to join in. During the blowing parts, spread your hands apart to show an imaginary bubble getting bigger. Clap when it pops, then start again.

Try dancing through the “bu bu” refrain and making your funniest surprised face at the pop. The challenge is not really about winning. Even a bubble that goes wrong becomes part of the fun.
